About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your skin. As the former co-chair of the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention, I urge you to stay safe in the sun.

Biography

I have wanted to be a physician since sixth grade. I graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School as the recipient of a full expense scholarship curtsey of the United States Air Force. After a pediatric residency, I served four years in the Air Force. Then, I completed a dermatology residency in Cincinnati, Ohio, where I was introduced to the subspecialty of pediatric dermatology. I have a physician husband and three daughters who all played French horn in high school and college.

About my practice

After I retire, I will return to Kaiser Permanente as an emeritus partner physician with a limited schedule, seeing children only. Our dermatology team works together to make sure you understand your skin problems and how to take care of them. We recommend websites and distribute printed materials to help you learn more about your skin. I have a special expertise in children with rare or difficult skin conditions and have appointments for them, although limited.

How I thrive

Although my children have long since graduated, I enjoy volunteering at the local high school in the music department. I enjoy shopping at the farmers market for sustainable fish and produce. My husband and I enjoy anything that has to do with mysteries, Sherlock Holmes, and big band or classical music. When I retire, I will plant an herb garden at home and explore our beautiful local nature trails in the North County area.
