About Me

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My interest in medicine stems from my father having a heart attack when I was 11 years old, combined with my interest in sciences during high school. I stayed in Atlanta and attended Emory University for both college and medical school. After medical school, I had the urge to see a different part of the country and decided to come to the Rocky Mountains where outdoor opportunities were plentiful. During my residency at Swedish Medical Center, I met my wife, who is a Colorado native. We now have two wonderful kids and a Norwegian elkhound to round out our family. I worked in private practice in Parker prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in 2009.

About my practice

I became a family physician because I enjoy taking care of the whole family throughout all stages of life with a focus on preventive medicine. I look forward to seeing my patients and enjoy learning about you. I appreciate being a patient's doctor over a long period of time, and I strive to make you feel comfortable to discuss any issues or concerns about your health care with me anytime. I am a strong advocate of all vaccinations. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate your care. My practice interests include hypertension, preventing heart disease, men's health and preventive medicine.

How I thrive

During my time away from work, team sports are my favorite form of exercise. Lately, I have played Ultimate Frisbee on a variety of different teams. I think exercise is very important for maintaining energy and a positive mood. My family and I enjoy travel and skiing as well. My other interests include scuba diving, hiking, photography, movies and spending time with my wife and children.
