About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my work as a physician at Kaiser Permanente.

Biography

I am a native Southern Californian who went east for medical school and then came right back to less cold and humidity. I am fortunate to have a wonderful physician wife whom I met here at Kaiser Permanente during our residency training. We have two sons. She retired in 2013 but remains with Kaiser Permanente on a per diem basis, practicing family medicine at the East Los Angeles Medical Offices.

About my practice

I am an infectious disease specialist focusing on the care of people with HIV. Including my training in internal medicine and infectious diseases, I have practiced at Los Angeles Medical Center for 30 years. I am the medical director of the Home Infusion Program and Outpatient Infusion Center, providing physician support to a marvelous team of highly skilled pharmacists and specialized nurses. My practice is primarily dedicated to the care of people with HIV. Wonderful advances in HIV medicine over the years has extended the quality and quantity of life for patients with HIV, and I have come to appreciate how important healthy living and preventive care are to being well as one ages. That goes for all people, but especially those with HIV. I now spend a great deal of time promoting healthy living and instituting preventive practices.

How I thrive

I stay well by actually following the same advice I give my patients.
