About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I am very proud to be a Kaiser Permanente physician. My colleagues are my partners, and we all work together to provide the best possible care to our members.

Biography

After graduating from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a B.S. in physiology, I moved to Glendale, AZ to attend Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. I then moved to St. Petersburg, FL for a traditional rotating internship, and finished my internal medicine residency in Largo, FL in 2012. I immediately joined a rural health group where I spent three years as a hospitalist in Bradenton, FL. In 2016 I made the switch back to the West Coast and moved to Torrance, CA where I practiced as a nocturnist (a hospital-based physician who works overnight) at Long Beach Memorial. As of January 2017 I am happy to say I am part of the Kaiser Permanente family!

About my practice

From 2013 to 2016 I was a hospitalist (a physician who cares for patients that have been admitted to the hospital) for a federally-funded program that provide healthcare to the underserved population of Manatee County in the Tampa Bay area. As one of their first hospitalists I helped develop the program, where we covered a 320-bed hospital between four physicians. During my time there I served on the internal medicine committee, and helped the hospital with its continuous quality improvement. I am proud to say that we received Top Performer status from JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations) in 2013 and 2014. I was also part of the osteopathic teaching program where I mentored third- and fourth-year medical students for their internal medicine inpatient rotations.

How I thrive

I try to spend as much time outdoors as possible in my spare time. You can find me at kiteboarding at Long Beach, cycling around Palos Verdes, or jogging along Redondo Beach. I love photography and am always on the look out for beautiful scenery to capture.
