About Me

I have been fortunate to be part of the Northwest Permanente physician group since 2003. There are not many systems where member-care is so well integrated and where the focus is on evidence-based medicine. Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, I lived in Boston where I completed my medical training in internal medicine. After several years working in primary care and also doing hospital-based work, I shifted my focus to palliative medicine.

About my practice

I have a clinic-based practice and also am part of the inpatient Palliative Care consult service. Even though there are no cures for the illnesses I treat, there is great satisfaction in knowing that the Palliative Care teams here at Kaiser Permanente can improve our members’ quality of life. I strive to know my members on a personal level, to understand their hopes, fears, and goals, and to help them negotiate the complex medical choices they may face.

How I thrive

My outside pursuits include hiking, travel, concerts, vegetarian cooking, and keeping track of my busy teenagers!
