About Me

I was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania and attended Albany Medical College in New York for my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. When my husband and I were vacationing in Hawaii, we fell in love with the island lifestyle and local culture, and knew that we wanted this special place to be our permanent home. Our dream eventually became a reality, and we’ve been loving our life here on Maui ever since! My husband works for the Maui County Office on Aging, and we’re both so happy to be serving our community in meaningful ways.

About my practice

I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and helping other people, so a medical career was a great choice for me. Throughout my training, I was fortunate to have many opportunities to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience across a range of medical specialties, including emergency medicine, internal medicine, and cardiology.

To stay current in my field, I regularly access lectures and updates through online professional resources and also read several professional journals, participate in continuing medical education programs, and confer with physicians and other colleagues about specific cases as well as topics of general interest related to our work.

I wanted to be a part of a forward-thinking, patient-centered organization where I could have a long and productive career. With the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group I’ve found that organization. In my opinion, the team approach practiced at Kaiser Permanente allows providers to deliver the best care to our patients. Physicians, staff, administrative support, and available technology and resources all work together to create a nurturing, productive, and stimulating environment.

I enjoy talking story with patients, sharing laughs with them, and learning about their lives and their families, in addition to their medical issues. Every person’s situation is different, and treatment plans should be tailored to reflect the individual’s beliefs, needs, goals, and preferences.

How I thrive

I recharge when away from work in the clinic by setting aside time for myself, spending some quality time with my husband, and engaging with my community. I enjoy going to the many beautiful beaches on the island, paddleboarding, snorkeling, hanging out with good friends, and reading interesting books. To stay physically fit, I do some type of cardio exercise every day and take long walks with my husband and dog.
