About Me

Hello, and welcome to Kaiser Permanente and my Web page.

After 20 years working with a county hospital-based clinic, I joined Kaiser Permanente five years ago—and I’m glad I did! I’m originally from a small town in Ohio. I studied medicine at Ohio State University College of Medicine and then completed my family practice residency in Pittsburgh. I moved to Las Vegas in 1992 to complete a public health commitment and stayed for 20 years. I provided primary care for the homeless and people living with HIV/AIDS. When I finally moved to San Diego, it was specifically to work with Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

I feel blessed to have found a position at the Point Loma Medical Offices. As one of the smaller Kaiser Permanente offices, I feel a very personal connection to the members because I also live in the area. I continue to enjoy all facets of adult medicine for men and women, and continue to have a specialized interest in HIV primary care.

How I thrive

Like many of you, maintaining balance can be difficult for me with a busy work and personal life. For me, balance involves exercise for both physical and mental improvement. Meditation has been very helpful for stress reduction. I also try to improve my diet every day, while still enjoying eating. I’m currently enjoying all that San Diego has to offer, but I also enjoy good food with friends, the Buckeyes, live concerts, and travel. Hopefully I can be helpful in encouraging you to live a balanced life as well.
