About Me

A native of the Pacific Northwest, I moved to Portland, Oregon to attend collage. After a brief stint on the East Coast and in California, I returned to make Portland my forever home. Several years after graduating found myself working as a health educator and medical assistant, and I realized that medicine would combine my interest in science and my desire to work directly with people. It was a great decision, and I feel very lucky get to do such interesting and rewarding work!

About my practice

I believe in the mission of family medicine: to provide personal, comprehensive health care to individuals in the context of the family and the community. I emphasize health promotion and disease prevention, and believe individuals should be engaged and empowered with respect to their health and medical decisions. I strongly believe everyone deserves the attention, respect, and quality health care that I want for myself and my family. It is an honor and a privilege to do this work.

How I thrive

Fresh air, natural beauty, occasional sunshine, and good healthy food (preferably from my garden or the farmer's market) are essential to my physical, mental and spiritual fitness. My favorite activities include walking my dogs, hiking, backpacking, spending time with close friends and family. I try to get an aerobic workout 3-4 times a week, and if I cannot do it outdoors I go to my neighborhood gym. It makes a world of difference in my energy level and how I feel overall. Meditation also helps my attitude and stress management.
