About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am a pathologist at San Diego Medical Center. I began my career at Kaiser Permanente in 1996 and have never looked back. I am truly happy here.

Biography

I am from San Diego and graduated from Patrick Henry High School. I have always had an interest in science. I graduated from California State University Fullerton in 1983 with a major in biology. I then earned a Master of Public Health degree at UCLA. I worked for two years in Chicago for the US Department of Occupational Health and Safety (OSHA). I inspected oil refineries and various factories. My husband was in medical school at the time and I became so interested in his studies that I decided to give medicine a try. I am so happy with my choice.

About my practice

Pathology is definitely the right fit for me. The mix of independence and team work is ideal. My specialty is fetal and placental pathology. My mentor is Kurt Benirschke, MD. I was awarded the first Kurt Benirschke fellowship, which was completed in 1996. I am passionate about my work.

How I thrive

For me, being healthy is a way of life-not a task. Fitness is my hobby. I love jogging, tennis, spin, and cycling. I find mental enjoyment with gardening, reading, playing cards, and spending time with my family.
