About Me

Welcome to my Web page! I am a board-certified anesthesiologist and I love being a Kaiser Permanente physician. Our patients are wonderful and I enjoy meeting and taking care of each one that I personally encounter. I wish everyone great health and happiness.

Biography

I was born and raised on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, along with one sister. I knew I wanted to be a physician from the time I was about five years old. I have always enjoyed helping others, whether it was through my volunteer work at several hospitals or mentoring middle school students in poor areas of New York City. I attended Barnard College and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, then did my residency at UC Irvine Medical Center. I spent three and a half years as a clinical assistant professor in the UC Irvine Anesthesia Department before joining Kaiser Permanente. I particularly enjoy caring for senior members and thought that I would become a geriatrician, but in my fourth year of medical school I fell in love with the excitement and hands-on aspects of anesthesiology.

About my practice

I am currently the Chief of Anesthesiology at Baldwin Park Medical Center and have worked here since the opening of the hospital in 1998. Our department is made up of talented, vibrant physicians whose goal is to provide exceptional medical care with compassion and respect. We provide all aspects of anesthesia care, including anesthesia in the operating room and the labor and delivery suite, as well as pain management. I enjoy anesthesiology partly because it is interdisciplinary, pulling together internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics, pain management, critical care, and emergency medicine.

How I thrive

I live well by hiking, walking my dog, biking, swimming, and traveling. I also have taken to walking around our medical center during my lunch break. My hobbies include scrapbooking, photography, and reading.
