About Me

I consider it a tremendous privilege to practice medicine and surgery. The idea of dramatically improving a person’s life through scientific and surgical advances has fascinated me since high school. I grew up outside of Boston, attended Harvard College, and completed my training at Massachusetts General Hospital before working as a thoracic surgeon in Memphis, Tennessee. My wife is also a physician, and we chose to move to the Pacific Northwest not only to continue caring for people but also to raise our children in a beautiful part of the country that fosters an outdoor lifestyle.

About my practice

My practice is general thoracic surgery with an emphasis on thoracic oncology and foregut surgery. Technical advances in surgical instruments have allowed minimally invasive surgery to improve recovery times and decrease postoperative discomfort. I work with an excellent group of specialists in pulmonary medicine, oncology, radiology, and other areas to formulate comprehensive treatment plans for our patients.

How I thrive

I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and children, hiking, skiing, and boating. In addition, I am an avid rower and runner.
