About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I am a board-certified pathologist with more than 30 years experience in pathology. My areas of interest are dermatopathology—pathology of skin diseases, cancers, and melanomas—as well as breast pathology. Before joining Kaiser Permanente I was a general pathologist and a university professor.

Biography

I was born in Iran (Persia) in 1957. My father was a surgeon, so I was exposed to medicine early in life. I’ve been married for 34 years and have two daughters. My eldest daughter is now a dermatologist.

About my practice

Our pathology practice at Kaiser Permanente includes seven outstanding board certified pathologists, each with a subspecialty and special interest in different fields of pathology. We consult extensively with colleagues in our Pathology Department as well as pathology departments at other Kaiser Permanente medical centers. We also consult with prominent experts from other facilities or other parts of the country, including pathology departments from Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic and Stanford. We believe this gives our members the high-quality care they deserve.

How I thrive

To stay healthy, it's important to have a healthy body and mind. I try to exercise regularly, and to participate in outdoor activities—especially with my family. I eat healthy foods like vegetables, fruits, fish, and dairy products. For a balanced mind and spirit, I meditate—this is one of the best ways to achieve a high degree of spirituality and release stress. My hobbies include playing the piano, swimming, and hiking.
