About Me

I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I feel proud to be a part of Kaiser Permanente, and I look forward to working with you towards better eye health.

Biography

I lived in Southern California for most of my life and grew up as a Kaiser Permanente member. My mother was a pediatric nurse at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center for nearly 30 years. Being inspired by my mother's dedication to health care, I chose ophthalmology as a specialty because of the fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination needed to perform delicate eye surgery. Another important aspect is the gratification I feel from helping people.

About my practice

I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy, however many eye diseases may be unavoidable. I look forward to working with you to actively maintain your eye health. I take pride in being able to explain in understandable terms what may seem to be confusing issues. I feel that when you are knowledgeable about what may be at stake, namely your eyesight, you will be motivated to actively participate in your own care.

How I thrive

Balancing my family and career is vitally important to me. My family consists of my son and daughter, who are in elementary school, and my wife, a nurse anesthetist with Kaiser Permanente. In my office, you will see lots of pictures of my wife, our kids and our pets. When I'm not helping the kids with their homework or cheering at their games, I enjoy playing golf and tennis, cycling, and firing up the ol' Harley.
