Hello, and welcome! It is a pleasure to introduce myself and to invite you to my practice. I love my job as an optometrist and feel blessed to work in an environment that I truly enjoy. I work with a fantastic team here in El Cajon and look forward to taking care of you and your loved ones.
I was born in Korea and moved to California at a young age. Growing up in the Bay Area, I dreamed of playing football for the 49ers or playing basketball for the Golden State Warriors (champions again!). After finishing my undergraduate studies at UC San Diego, I packed up my warmest shorts and T-shirts to attend optometry school in New York City. After 7 wonderful and exciting years in the Big Apple (and many winter coats later), I was able to convince my wife to move to sunny San Diego. I have been practicing at Kaiser Permanente since 2007, mostly right here in El Cajon.
About my practice
My top priority is to improve the quality of life for members. I strive to be conscientious and informative in regards to the member's concerns and conditions. I am fortunate to be surrounded by a talented and dedicated team of optometrists, physicians, and support staff to help achieve this goal. This team approach at Kaiser Permanente has great benefits for both the members and providers. Aside from general optometry, I also provide low vision services for members with severe visual impairment.
How I thrive
I like to stay active by working out or playing basketball. Otherwise, most of my free time is dedicated to spending time with my wife and with our young daughter, who keeps us laughing and on our toes. I would be remiss if I didn't mention our "first child" Mollie, an overgrown Jack Russell. Our favorite place to visit in San Diego is Balboa Park. We also have a fondness for traveling to the Pacific Northwest or revisiting New York City.
