I was born and raised on Oahu. I went to Maryknoll School, then the University of Hawaii.
My interest in medicine began at a young age due to my having family members in the medical field who introduced me to it. Internal medicine, specifically, appealed to me because of the diversity of medical issues that it covers. To stay up-to-date, I attend professional conferences and read medical journals. Working at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group, I have the ability to ask for help and get it! I enjoy being able to discuss cases and hear different opinions and perspectives within both internal medicine and the other specialties. My approach to care is to treat others as if they were my own family members. I try to understand the patient's perspective and take into account both the medical and social aspects of their lives.
Running and playing tennis and volleyball are my favorite forms of exercise. I also reenergize by socializing with friends at dinner and other events.
