About Me

I was born and raised in California. I earned my medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri and completed my pediatrics residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland. Just before coming to Hawaii, I lived in Seattle, where I raised my family.

About my practice

I realized at a young age that I loved working with children. I began volunteering with kids who were diagnosed with cancer while I was in college, and I decided then and there that pediatrics would be my future. Time and experience have shown me that this was indeed the best career choice for me. The interactions I have with children and their families enrich my life on a daily basis. It’s so gratifying to help them in any way I can. I’m a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. To stay current in medicine, I read professional journals and online articles, participate in continuing medical education programs, and confer with colleagues. I wanted to work in an organization that prioritized quality and patient safety, and I’m so glad to have found this at the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group. The excellent medical and support staff make it a joy for me to come to work each day. I believe that patient care should be approached in a careful and thoughtful manner in order to promote the most appropriate care and best results. I strive to make my patients and their families feel heard and respected in each interaction.

How I thrive

I like to run, spend time outdoors, and read both fiction and nonfiction. My wife and I are always looking for new ways to explore the beautiful Hawaiian outdoors with our kids.
