Biography

I practice family medicine at Kaiser Riverside. I started my medical training in Nigeria, and completed my family medicine residency at Loma Linda University. I have been interested in medicine since childhood. In my youth, I spent most of my after-school hours at a local community clinic in Nigeria, where my Mom worked as a nurse practitioner and midwife, and my dad was the accountant. I occasionally followed my Mom on house calls, as a good number of patients were close neighbors. A health provider was regarded as part of the extended family.

About my practice

As family physicians, we are trained to care for the whole person. I believe in the connection between mind, body, and spirit, and how this affects one's overall health. I also believe one’s environment affects one’s health. I am also a big proponent of primary prevention of disease. These basic concepts are foundational to my practice as I get to know my patients better, and help identify issues that can either adversely affect or, in most cases, optimize health. Just like my Mom, I like my patients to regard me as an extended family member whose priority is to help them enjoy better health.

How I thrive

To maintain my own wellness, I try to practice what I preach. This means getting regular exercise, eating a plant-based diet, getting ample sleep, and enjoying time with the people you love.
