About Me

Welcome to my Web page, and thank you for choosing my as your physician.

Biography

I grew up in Anaheim Hills and completed medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. I returned to California for residency training at LAC+USC Medical Center in internal medicine. I practiced as a hospitalist (a physician who cares for patients admitted to the hospital) at USC for one year as teaching faculty. I then completed my fellowship training in critical care medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, OR. I choose critical care medicine as a career after my intensive care unit (ICU) rotation in medical school. I was amazed with the many brilliant physicians and nurses I worked with in the unit. Intensive care requires a thorough understanding of physiology, and I feel that the ICU is where human physiology is most appreciated. Training in advanced critical care units during my fellowship training only solidified my commitment to this field. One of my interests is in the education of resident physicians and medical students, and finding the best methods to teach fundamental ICU care. I rotated through Kaiser Permanente during my fellowship and was very impressed with how invested the physicians and staff were in improving patient care. There is a clear mission to continually improve patient care that permeates throughout Kaiser Permanente, and I feel very fortunate to be a part of this excellent healthcare team.
