Portland, Oregon has been my home ever since I was a young child. During college, I fell in love with the microscope. While in medical school at Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU), this translated to an interest in microscopic diagnosis, pathology, and laboratory medicine. I am very proud to be able to practice pathology with my colleagues at Kaiser Permanente.
My specialty is Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, which is a broad specialty. At Kaiser Permanente, I am proud to be the Director of the Cytology Laboratory, which is the area of the lab primarily devoted to screening for cervical cancer (Pap test). I am also a surgical pathologist, spending much of the day using a microscope to diagnose cancer and other diseases.
I thrive on a bicycle. The fresh air and the physical activity are important balances to what is otherwise a sedentary job.
