About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy for this nice opportunity to introduce myself.

Biography

I was born in Reno, but have lived in California since childhood. All of my education and training has been in Southern California. After my residency and fellowship, I was on the faculty at UC Irvine School of Medicine for five years before I joined Kaiser Permanente. I’ve been happily practicing at Kaiser Permanente for over 15 years. My interests are in caring for people who have a wide variety of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreas, bile ducts, and gallbladder problems. I’ve always emphasized the importance of preventive medicine to maintain optimal health—physically and mentally—for my members.

About my practice

My practice emphasis has been in the field of gastrointestinal oncology. I have expertise in endoscopic ultrasound—a key imaging method in diagnosing and assessing various cancers. I also have many peer review publications in the areas of cancer prevention and diagnosis. I strongly appreciate being part of a health care plan which emphasizes healthy lifestyle choices.

How I thrive

I try to maintain a balance between family and work. I’ve remained physically active my entire life. In the past, I liked participating in team sports and surfing. Over the last 20 years, my passion has been triathlons.
