About Me

Hi, I'm John Goddard. I grew up in Alexandria, Virginia and am a proud graduate of the University of Virginia. My family and I have lived on both the East and West coasts and are extremely happy with our migration to the the great Northwest. Joining Kaiser Permanente has been a large part of that happiness and I am honored to be a part of such a great healthcare system.

About my practice

I practice Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery, a surgical sub-specialty of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. I exclusively treat patients with hearing, facial nerve, vestibular, and lateral skull base disorders and take great pride in actively listening to my patients to provide the best outcome possible. Some of the specific procedures I commonly perform include acoustic neuroma removal, cochlear implants, stapedotomy/stapedectomy, tympanoplasty (eardrum reconstruction) and chronic ear infection/cholesteatoma surgery.

How I thrive

I thrive by spending time with my family. They are a source of great joy for my mind and spirit. Exercise is another way that I thrive, providing me with energy that I can use in all other aspects of life. I also enjoy golf immensely and find being on a golf course or practicing my game good for my soul. Academically I thrive by writing journal articles, book chapters, and by participating in national organizations for my specialty. This allows me to continue to improve my knowledge and provides me with an opportunity to give back to others in various ways.
