About Me

Hi, I’m Dr. Mayeli. Welcome to my Web page.

Biography

My medical school training came from St. George’s University in Grenada, where it was sometimes difficult to focus on your studies when a warm Caribbean breeze tempted you to escape to the beach. However, I passed my boards and moved back to California to be with family. I served my internship and residency at Los Angeles King Drew Medical Center. In 2006, I was invited to join Kaiser Permanente and have enjoyed my tenure here. As an ob-gyn physician, I am often privileged to share a most joyous time with my patients: The birth of a child. I also find satisfaction in assisting teenage women chart their way into womanhood and aiding older women to discover new meaning and happiness in their later years. I enjoy being a part of Kaiser Permanente’s Ob/Gyn Department in Lancaster. We work well together and have developed a unique team whose goal is to deliver quality care in a warm and welcoming environment.

About my practice

Being a successful physician is all about clear communication. I need to be able to listen to my patients and offer ideas on how best to deal with a given situation. Ultimately, it is the patient’s responsibility to become an active participant in her own well-being. I can suggest a treatment path, but it’s up to the patient to follow it. Only by developing a solid patient/doctor trust can the desired medical outcome be achieved.

How I thrive

Outside of work, I lead a very active lifestyle. I love to surf and ride my mountain bike. Adventure is always just around the corner. I’ve climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and someday would like to scale Mount Everest.
