About Me

I grew up in Iowa and moved to Colorado for my undergraduate studies. I went to medical school in the San Fransisco Bay Area and then did my residency in internal medicine in Parkersburg, West Virginia. I have an extremely supportive husband and three young daughters. The most rewarding part of being a doctor is being able to support patients in some of the most difficult times in their lives and to help them feel empowered even in those challenging circumstances.

About my practice

I love to work with my patients to take control of their health. I enjoy working in hospital medicine because of the complexity and challenge of the care required. It’s wonderful to see that people who start out gravely ill can make dramatic recoveries in a matter of days. My physician partners, the nursing staff, pharmacists, care managers and respiratory, physical, occupational and speech therapists all communicate frequently to provide smooth and cohesive care. When it is time for discharge, we also communicate with your outpatient providers and help arrange outpatient referrals so that you have seamless transitions when returning home.

How I thrive

I am very involved in my church community. I also enjoy running and working out. I love to sew and knit, particularly clothing for my little girls.
