About Me

Welcome! I’m glad to have the opportunity to share some information about myself and I hope this page will help you to get to know me.

Biography

I am from the San Fernando Valley and grew up in Sherman Oaks. In college, I studied nutrition with a dietetics focus and became very interested in preventive medicine. After college, I completed my training to become a registered dietitian at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in West Los Angeles, where I had the privilege to work with our nation’s heroes. While I worked for several years as a dietitian in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, I became more passionate about the entire well-being of my patients, and this led me to pursue a career in medicine. My first clinical rotation for medical school was at Kaiser Permanente (KP). I quickly learned that this health care system had the preventive approach I always wanted to pursue. I selected Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills to continue my training in family medicine, hoping one day to continue to practice there. At Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills, I received a regional research committee grant and studied the weight management program at Kaiser Permanente Southern California. I was selected to give a lectern presentation at the 34th Annual Multi-Campus Family Medicine Research Day and hope to continue to work on publishing my research. I was also selected by my peers to be a co-chief resident.

About my practice

I feel that following a healthy diet and getting regular exercise are the best ways to prevent illness. During our visits, I will often discuss your dietary and exercise patterns. No matter how healthy of a lifestyle you follow, however, people still get sick, and I will be there to help get you back on track. I became a family physician because I believe that your health is intertwined with your family’s and taking care of the family as a whole is the best way to keep everyone healthy.

How I thrive

When I’m away from work, I love to spend time with my wife and 2 young children. I also enjoy hiking, running, swimming, surfing, and biking. I have competed in both marathons and triathlons. You will often see me running around Balboa Lake with my wife and children. I also love to garden and grow fruits and vegetables that I can share with my friends and neighbors.
