Growing up in the San Luis Valley makes me proud to be a Colorado native. I decided to become a physician in the seventh grade after watching the birth of a child as part of a school project. From that point on my path was set. I completed medical school at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and my pediatric training at Washington University School of Medicine/St. Louis Children's Hospital. I completed an additional two-year fellowship at St. Louis Children's Hospital before traveling around the world and returning to Colorado. My husband and I are excited to be back in Colorado and closer to family and friends!
Great communication is essential in the patient-physician relationship and it is something I pride myself on. I have the ability to explain routine to complex medical situations in terms that families understand, forming a partnership in care. I am comfortable caring for newborns to teenagers and all their pediatric needs. My board certifications are in pediatrics and child abuse pediatrics.
Maintaining a balance of working hard and playing hard makes me thrive. I enjoy traveling, hiking, cooking, reading, and improving my Spanish language skills along with spending time with family and friends.
