About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have the chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my work as a physician and physician administrator for Kaiser Permanente.

Biography

I completed medical school in Minnesota and moved to San Diego to complete my residency program at UC San Diego. I’ve been practicing at Kaiser Permanente in San Diego since then, served as Chief of Family Medicine, and am the current Area Medical Director for San Diego. I enjoy spending my free time with my wife and daughter, as well as with our extended families in San Diego and Northern Minnesota.

About my practice

I’m a board certified family medicine physician, and practiced for more than 20 years before becoming Area Medical Director for San Diego. It is an honor and privilege to lead our group of over 1,000 Kaiser Permanente physicians, who care for over a half million members in San Diego. I feel fortunate to be able to work as a physician administrator, helping to make our organization to be one of the best health care delivery systems in the country. I am proud of the high quality, affordable care we provide for our members. I feel that focusing on healthy living and practicing preventive medicine are key aspects to avoiding unnecessary illness.

How I thrive

Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I focus my energy on family activities as much as possible. For my personal well-being, I focus on spending my free time pursuing cardiovascular fitness activities or in the outdoors, fishing out on a lake or on the ocean.
