About Me

Welcome to my Web page!

I was born in Bogota, Colombia, and immigrated to the U.S. at the age of 9. After Catholic high school, I attended Dartmouth College and then Dartmouth Medical School. I did my internship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and then completed my family medicine residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center/Loma Linda University. I finished my residency in 1990 and immediately joined Kaiser Permanente in Orange County, where my husband and I decided to raise our three children. I have two kids out of college and my youngest one just started. I pursued a medical career because it was a great way to combine my academic curiosity with a profession that was a service to others.

About my practice

I am board certified in family medicine. I treat patients who are over the age of 18. I see a wide range of patients; about a quarter of them are seniors. Half of my members speak only Spanish, so I’m fortunate to be bilingual.

How I thrive

I try very hard to practice what I preach. Health is all about prevention, both physical and mental. There is no substitute for a healthy lifestyle. I am fortunate to be employed in a job I love. My work is very challenging, but I thrive from it.
