About Me

Thank you visiting my Web page. I am privileged to be able to practice surgery at Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.

Biography

I am a native of Southern California and grew up close by, in the Conejo Valley. The first hospital I ever visited was the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center as a pediatric patient many years ago. I am delighted to now return and have the opportunity to care for my patients in the place that once cared for me. After earning my undergraduate degree at USC and then attending UC Irvine for medical school, I briefly left Southern California to train at UC Davis in Sacramento for my general surgery residency. I met my incredible wife in medical school, who is also a Southern California native. We always knew that we wanted to return to Southern California to practice medicine and we could not be happier to be able to practice in such a wonderful community.

About my practice

I believe that the opportunity to practice surgery is a true privilege. My goal is that my patients have a complete understanding of all options open to them and to establish the trusting relationship that is required between surgeon and patient. I perform a broad range of general surgical procedures including hernia, breast, gallbladder, colon, and thyroid disease. I also have a special interest in advance laparoscopic procedures such as paraesophageal hernia repair, Nissen fundoplication, and splenectomy. I believe that using laparoscopic surgery to perform these operations through small incisions allows my patients to experience less pain, have smaller scars and, most importantly, return to their lives more quickly.

How I thrive

Living in Southern California allows me to spend time with my family and enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy snowboarding, golfing, hiking and motorcycle riding. My wife and I have a true passion for travel and I have visited nearly 40 countries on six continents. Travel helps to quench my perpetual thirst for adventure and allows me to keep perspective in my own life. To relax, I enjoy playing the guitar and finding interesting new restaurants with my wife, who is the foodie in our family.
