About Me

I grew up in Virginia, attended the University of Virginia as an undergraduate and Vanderbilt University for medical school. I decided to pursue pediatrics and moved to Denver in the mid-90s to train at The Children's Hospital. After completing my residency, I worked there briefly and then joined the East Denver pediatric group in early 2001. Initially I combined my clinical practice with work as a hospitalist at Children's, but for the past several years I focus solely in the medical office while serving as the administrative chief of the pediatric department at East Denver Medical Office. I am married to a fellow pediatrician and we have two children and two dogs.

About my practice

I enjoy watching children grow and develop from infants to teens and try to form a lasting relationship with my patients and their families. A favorite aspect of my job is that pediatrics is a dynamic specialty where my patients are constantly changing! I value the relationship and trust that is built with children and families and I respect their input when making medical decisions. I want them to be involved in their care, ask questions and learn how to best care for themselves.

How I thrive

My family and I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities such as running, biking, skiing, and hiking. My husband and I both grew up near the Atlantic Ocean, share a love of the water, are avid scuba divers and usually take vacations to the beach. Both of my children are active in sports and I currently coach my daughter's soccer team in the spring and fall. We also enjoy cooking and reading while trying to save a little time each day just to relax.
