About Me

Welcome! I am happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. As a child, I've always wished to be in the health care field to help people improve their quality of life. After observing an intricate procedure—my aunt's enucleation (removal) of an infected eye—my fascination with the human eye and the tremendous impact vision has on the quality of life inspired me to pursue optometry. The most rewarding part of being an optometrist is having the opportunity to help people experience better eyesight and eye care. I am privileged to be part of the Orange County Kaiser Permanente team.

Biography

I am of Vietnamese descent, growing up in sunny Orange County after arriving here as a small child with my family. I am also fluent in Vietnamese. I started my education in biological science at UC Irvine and completed my doctorate in optometry at the Southern California College of Optometry. I spent the next 2 decades practicing full-scope optometry in large medical groups, with the last few years at Kaiser Permanente in Orange County. I am involved with a number of charity organizations that raise funds for and awareness of the underprivileged across the world. I also actively support community vision screenings and projects through Boys Scouts of America.

About my practice

My approach to delivering eye care is to do what is best for members and effectively communicate about their eye conditions as well as options. I enjoy conducting thorough eye examinations with some of the latest eye care technology. Also, I am able to collaborate with the Ophthalmology and Optical Departments to provide comprehensive eye care services for members. It is with the same passion that I hope to rehabilitate vision for irregular corneal conditions as a specialty contact lens provider.

How I thrive

To maintain a healthy lifestyle, I play tennis and volleyball, and I swim. I also enjoy traveling, hiking trails, and home cooking with my husband and our 3 children. In my free time, I like to relax with music and watch a good "classic" movie.
