About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I’m pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you. I had the desire to become a physician from the time I was very young. I enjoy the practice of medicine and cannot envision myself in any other profession.

Biography

I was born in Iran and left at a young age. I received my medical education in Brussels, Belgium, and completed my postgraduate training in the United States. For patients, surgery is often a life-changing event. As an anesthesiologist, having the opportunity to allay my patients' anxieties and help them undergo their surgery safely is very rewarding. The emphasis of my training has been pediatrics and pediatric anesthesia. I am particularly focused on making a surgical event less traumatic for children and their often-apprehensive parents. My goal has also been perfection in patient safety. I strive to ensure patient safety before, during, and after surgery. My training has given me the opportunity to live in many great cities, such as New York, Boston, and San Francisco. For the past 24 years, I have made Southern California my home.

About my practice

I am both a pediatrician and an anesthesiologist, but I dedicate my practice primarily to providing anesthesia for pediatric patients (although I care for many adults as well). I also have administrative duties as the assistant area medical director and oversee the operating rooms at the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center, and the Bellflower and Garden Grove Medical Offices. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 1998 after eight years in academic medicine in the UC system. It has been a very rewarding and satisfying experience working with my outstanding physician colleagues and our great staff at Kaiser Permanente.

How I thrive

Balancing work and outside activities has always been a challenge. I make time to exercise regularly, spin at the gym at least twice a week, and work in the garden and around the house. My hobbies are spending time with my beautiful family and traveling.
