I grew up in a small rural town in Western Michigan. I received my undergraduate degree in German Literature from Wake Forest University. I attended the University of North Carolina for Medical School and did my residency in family medicine. I am married and have two little boys, a dog and a very old cat. I moved to Colorado in 2007 and hope that I never have to leave it.
I believe my open style of medicine aids me in developing a personal and compassionate relationship with my patients and their families. I am a family physician with a community health background and a variety of interests. My training and experience include trigger point injections, joint injections, nerve blocks, dermatological procedures. I also perform a wide spectrum of women's health procedures. I can speak Spanish and German and welcome diverse families to my practice.
I find great joy by living an active life with my family. Outdoors is where I feel most at peace, whether it is on a mountain top in July or on a ski slope in January I raise puppies for Guide Dogs for the Blind and have raised 10 so far. My two boys keep me very busy and I do taekwondo with my oldest son. We are not far away from earning our black belt. To calm myself after all of our activities I do yoga and meditate. Our world is busy and fast-paced and it is so important to spend some time slowing down.
