About Me

I was raised outside of Boston in the town of Framingham, Mass. I was influenced during childhood by my family's physician, who was a gentle, caring man and was much loved by his patients. When it came time to choose a career, I decided to go to medical school. I was happy to be able to attend the University of Miami. Following training I worked for many years as a pediatric oncologist, which is a pediatrician who takes care of children with blood disorders and cancers. I learned a great deal about taking care of children with life threatening illness and the life changing impact that has on families. I decided about 10 years ago that it was time for a change, and I now practice general pediatrics. I am happy to be able to spend most of my work days seeing children who are healthy and thriving.

About my practice

My work in pediatrics involves seeing children and teens for acute illnesses and for checkups. I know that some parents worry a lot, and part of my work involves trying to ease parents’ anxiety. Well checkups are a very important part of a child's health care. I like to focus on how the well child or teen is doing, and I try to promote a healthy lifestyle.

How I thrive

I find that all day-to-day activities can help you thrive if you can remember to live in the moment. Even routine day-to-day chores can be enjoyable if you can slow yourself down and pay attention to what you are doing and the nice things that are around you. For me, this means enjoying the smile of a baby in for a checkup, listening to the stories from a 5-year-old just starting school and congratulating a teenager's success in sports or school activities. I realize I am lucky to work in a place where I get to see and hear many good things.
