About Me

As a native Floridian, I have always enjoyed the outdoors and engaging in physical activity. I have fond memories of growing up in the Florida sun and enjoying the beautiful beaches. Being the oldest of my cousins, I always felt responsible for their safety and well-being whenever we were on our adventures around the neighborhood. I found myself eager to lend a hand if they needed any immediate first aid attention. I have always enjoyed caring for others and wanting to help or assist with anything medical. My interest was also sparked when I had the chance to shadow my grandmother on the labor and delivery unit at our local hospital. After graduating from high school, I majored in nursing and graduated from the University of Florida. Shortly thereafter, I joined the United States Air Force Nurse Corp, where I served as a commissioned officer on active duty for over six years. This was my first time working with nurse-midwives, and I loved it. They were awesome! Once I delivered my first baby, I was hooked. Midwifery is a very time consuming profession, but my family is super supportive. I credit my spouse and children with helping me keep a healthy perspective on family, my profession and life.

About my practice

I believe in giving our members the type of care I would want my family to receive. My professional philosophy is to listen to the patient and allow them to play an active role in her health care plan. I want to help our members strive to be their best physically, emotionally and spiritually. I have the privilege of caring for women from the ages of 15 to post-menopause. As a nurse-midwife, I not only care for pregnant women and deliver babies, but I also provide gynecological care for non-pregnant women.

How I thrive

Maintaining balance in my life is essential to thriving. Therefore, I try very hard to make time for the things I enjoy like exercising, taking walks in the park, reading, working in my garden and meditating. Giving back by volunteering at my church is very important to me. I love spending time at the beach and reconnecting with my family.
