About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I have practiced family medicine for 10 years, and have been with Kaiser Permanente for the past three years. I see patients of all ages. I am active in medical education and clinical teaching, and work a lot with Kaiser Permanente residents and UCSD medical students in my practice. I have also worked in addiction medicine for several years.

Biography

I was born in San Antonio and raised in Canada, where I completed my medical training. I enjoy spending time with my family, visiting the many beaches of San Diego, stand-up paddling, kayaking, cooking, food blogging, and traveling. I practiced in Canada for 5 years before moving to California. I have previously worked for the University of British Columbia, UC San Francisco, St George's University, and Stanford University as a clinical faculty member.

About my practice

We strive to provide exceptional clinical care that is patient-centered and of the highest quality possible. We practice preventive medicine and encourage our patients to do their age-appropriate and risk factor-based lab tests, cancer screening, vaccinations for preventive illnesses, etc. We also discourage the use of addictive substances (opioids, benzodiazepines, stimulants) and other dangerous drugs wherever possible.

How I thrive

I go to the gym and beach often. I also enjoy the arts, culture, sports, dining out. I also value spirituality.
