About Me

Welcome to my Web page and to the Nephrology Department. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.

Biography

I have been a practicing nephrologist at the Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center for about 27 years. I have been active in administration and have a special interest in bioethics; I also am the medical director of the Peritoneal Dialysis Unit. My wife and I are native Californians.

About my practice

What is nephrology? For those new to the department, nephrologists treat diseases of or related to the kidneys. We are here to serve you. We are a multidisciplinary health care practice, which means we work together as a team to give you the best care possible. We have six nephrologists, a pharmacist, a dietician, a social worker, several case managers, and several nurses. We treat kidney disease and also work hard to prevent other related conditions, such as hypertension and heart disease. Our goal is to keep you healthy.

How I thrive

You will notice that during our visits I will ask you about your regular exercise. How do I stay well? I watch my diet, and I walk about three miles four to five times a week with my dog Mr. Bailey. Or does he walk me? I read the Bible daily, and I sing in a choir. I teach junior high kids as a volunteer. I spend time with my family.
