Welcome to my Web page.
A native New Yorker, I always envied the year-round warm weather in Southern California. After completing my residency in ophthalmology at New York University in 1983, I joined Kaiser Permanente.
As chief of the Ophthalmology Department, I have dual roles as a clinician and administrator. I am proud of our surgeons, staff, and facilities. Ophthalmology is a specialty that provides a chance to dramatically affect a patient's life in a positive way. I have a very active surgical practice specializing in cataract surgery. Kaiser’s team approach supports comprehensive care that includes the full spectrum of subspecialty services in ophthalmology.
I strongly believe in exercise to maintain mental and physical fitness and health. I am an active cyclist, skier, runner, and triathlete. I find few things more satisfying than a long bike ride on the weekend. My wife and I enjoy visits with our two grown children, as well as time alone dining or completing the crossword puzzle together. I am also a sports fan, and root for the Anaheim Angels and Ducks.
