About Me

I am Dr. Laura Rush, a family medicine and HIV specialist working in the Palm Springs Medical Offices.

Biography

I was born and raised in New York City and then moved to Connecticut, where I attended the University of Connecticut. Prior to becoming a physician, I worked as a journalist, writer, editor, and producer covering finance, Internet technology, biotechnology, and stem cell research. I attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, and residency at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center (Sunset).

About my practice

I am an HIV specialist, and my primary care practice focuses on LGB/Transgender medicine. I am also a regular correspondent on radio stations including Channel Q, KGAY, and NPR, discussing health care affecting our community.

How I thrive

I thrive by working out, swimming, and running 5Ks with my dogs. In my spare time I am also a wildlife photographer. On weekends, I can be found on my motorcycle or surfing.
