About Me

Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to be able to tell you a little about myself, my education, and my experience. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2007 and have been inspired by the members I have had the opportunity to meet and help so far.

I grew up in Southern California and went to Boston for college and medical school. This gave me the opportunity to experience differences in culture and climate and discover the meaning of rabid sports fans. I returned to California for my residency in general surgery, a fellowship in critical care, and research in wound healing, cell transplant, and advanced endoscopic procedures. I spent two years performing advanced laparoscopic procedures in Sacramento before returning to Southern California and joining Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

My staff and I are dedicated to providing quality, thorough care to you. We combine the latest innovations in care and treatment. I am excited by the broad range of health conditions general surgeons can improve, whether it is a problem with the gall bladder or breasts, a hernia, or diseases of the intestines and colon. I am honored to be able to help people as a physician.

How I thrive

I was involved in competitive swimming growing up. It helped teach me valuable lessons in setting goals, the joy of accomplishment, and the need for perseverance. Now I use those same lessons to make the most of my work, my hobbies, and my family. I have learned to ski, play golf (badly), and run. I ran the Los Angeles Marathon and am looking forward to the next challenge, whatever that may be.
