About Me

I was born in Denver, but grew up in Plymouth, Minnesota. I moved back to Denver to attend the University of Denver, and finished my undergraduate degree studying abroad in Germany, traveling as much as possible while there. I went to PA school in Glendale, Arizona, highlighted by one of my proudest moments: being honored with the Leadership Award by my classmates and faculty. I have been interested in science and biology since I was young, and with having a physician for a father, I grew up around hospitals and clinics, hearing many stories about medicine. The most rewarding part of being a medical professional is getting to know my patients on a personal level, and being their advocate in their treatment journey.

About my practice

I chose to practice in oncology because of the strength and courage demonstrated by patients with a cancer diagnosis. I have a strong interest in internal medicine, and enjoy working in a specialty where so many advances are being made on a regular basis. I feel that the best treatment plans are centered around a patient’s goals of therapy, and in consideration of their core values and what they hold most dear. I identify well with adolescent and young adult patients, as they face unique challenges in facing a cancer diagnosis at a young age. I believe humor is an important part of the cancer journey, and I value getting to know my patients well. I take the time to learn what is most important to them, and connect on a personal level, so that I can best serve as their advocate and practice patient-centered care.

How I thrive

I thrive by staying active. I am an avid snowboarder, and enjoy playing men’s league soccer and basketball. I try to explore the Colorado outdoors in all seasons of the year, and I hope to have a dog someday soon that will enjoy doing the same.
