About Me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It is very important that you feel comfortable with your psychiatrist, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.

Biography

I am originally from Dallas, Texas, and have lived in several cities across the country and world prior to calling Los Angeles home. I attended Harvard College and Harvard Medical School in not-so-sunny Massachusetts, and trained in psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuropsychiatry and Human Behavior, where I also completed an addiction psychiatry fellowship. I chose to become a psychiatrist because I believe mental suffering is the worst type of pain one can experience, and requires competent and compassionate care from a highly trained professional.

About my practice

It is my goal to provide you with the highest quality of care using the many resources at hand within Kaiser Permanente. I feel fortunate to practice evidence-based medicine in a collaborative team with brilliant, dedicated colleagues and staff. I also firmly believe it is my job as a physician to care for the whole person, and being able to work in a coordinated manner with your other physicians at Kaiser Permanente should not be considered a luxury, but rather an expectation for the high-quality health care you deserve.

How I thrive

I believe that health and happiness stem from a balanced engagement of your mind and body within the larger social environment. I try to achieve balance in my life by regularly spending time with friends and family, eating healthy, exercising, avoiding alcohol and drugs, and appreciating the beauty of our diverse city, its art collections, performance artists, musicians, and landscapes.
