About Me

Hi! Welcome to my Web page. I hope the information here will help you to know a little about me.

Biography

I was born and raised in Hawaii but have been here in California since graduating from high school. My entire medical education and training has been here in California. I am married and have a beautiful wife and two wonderful kids. I enjoy teaching medical students and residents and have spent my entire career in the area of medical education. I am on the clinical faculty of the Geffen UCLA School of Medicine and also serve as the associate program director of the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Internal Medicine Residency Training Program. My hobbies are spending time with my family, working on home improvement projects, going to the gym, mountain biking, and serving at my local church.

About my practice

I have a very ethnically diverse practice, which I enjoy, and which reflects the population around the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. My philosophy is a partnership approach to member care, since members will do best if they agree to a treatment plan that is attainable.

How I thrive

I firmly believe in balance in one’s life. It means taking care of oneself not only physically but also mentally and spiritually. It also means trying to achieve some work/life balance, which is increasing difficult in today’s hectic society. And I try to practice what I preach.
