About Me

Hello, and thank you for visiting my Web page!

Biography

I was born in Colombia, South America, but spent most of my childhood living abroad. I completed medical school in Colombia, and during that time, I became passionate about women's health. I finished my residency in obstetrics/gynecology at Northwestern University in Chicago, and then completed a 3-year fellowship in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at New York University. I'm very happy to be in sunny California and to be part of the Kaiser Permanente family.

About my practice

As a urogynecologist, I take care of women with pelvic floor disorders including urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. I also care for members who suffer from childbirth- and pregnancy-related pelvic floor disorders, vesicovaginal and rectovaginal fistulae, voiding dysfunction/urinary retention, urethral diverticulum, and recurrent urinary tract infections. These conditions are very common, but some women may feel embarrassed or afraid to discuss their problems with their doctor. For me it is a privilege to care for these women and to improve their quality of life. I offer a wide variety of different medical or surgical treatments, and I will individualize each treatment according to your goals and expectations.

How I thrive

Keeping a balance in my life is very important to me. I love to spend time with my family and friends. I enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures, as well as dancing and practicing yoga.
