I was born in New York, but I was raised in Colombia, South America. I went to medical school in Colombia and practiced general medicine there for five years. I then returned to the U.S., where I finished my internal medicine and rheumatology training in Atlanta.
I specialize in rheumatology and see patients with autoimmune diseases and musculoskeletal disorders. I am a strong believer in patient education. As my patient, I will be happy to help you and teach you by answering all of your questions to the best of my capability. Sometimes I do not have all the answers, but that does not mean we will not look for them.I encourage our members to take charge of their own health, which often means asking you to follow my recommendations and contacting me with your questions when necessary. You are the first interest in your well-being. I am here to help you, and want you to be hands-on in your care. I consider my relationship with my patients to be a team effort.
I thrive through education and my quest to be informed. The better informed we are of what is happening around us and with our bodies, the better decisions we make.
