About Me

I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but moved to Colorado for the mountains and beautiful weather. I have one daughter who enjoys skiing, art and music. I decided to become a physician to make a positive contribution to my community and help patients heal during a difficult time in their lives. I am most proud of performing good patient care and feel rewarded when patients appreciate the care I provide. I have done foreign study in Mexico and South Africa and enjoy learning about cultures from around the world.

About my practice

I decided to pursue a career in surgery because of my fascination with human anatomy and physiology. I am most interested in advances in minimally invasive surgery to improve healing and minimize pain. I consider myself a patient-focused practitioner and I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to managing care. Communication is the key to good patient care, both with my patients and colleagues. I want to make sure your questions are answered and you understand and participate in the plan of care. I enjoy partnering with you to help achieve your health goals. I am also happy to assist you in navigating our health care system. I love seeing patients from all backgrounds and enjoy having a diverse patient population.

How I thrive

I enjoy volunteer work and host a coffee shop in my home to raise money for nonprofit organizations. I love hiking, snowboarding and other mountain activities. I always look forward to spending time with my daughter. It has been fun exposing her to different ethnic foods and cultures.
