About Me

I am originally from the Southeast but traveled to California for college, where I became enamored with the West Coast. I then spent four years in Boston for medical school and then headed to Miami for my residency and fellowship before seeing the light and moving here to the Pacific Northwest. I chose to practice ophthalmology and vitreoretinal surgery because it provides me with a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive medical and surgical care to my patients.

About my practice

I am one of three vitreoretinal surgeons at Kaiser Permanente Northwest. Our department specializes in medical and surgical disease of the retina and vitreous. Common conditions we treat include exudatative (wet) macular degeneration, retinal detachments, severe diabetic retinal disease, and various vascular and inflammatory disease of the eye.

How I thrive

My greatest passion in life is food. One of the things I love most about Portland is the quality and variety of excellent cuisine. I also enjoy cooking when I have the opportunity. I have recently begun to start running, which has served as an excellent source of energy and stress reduction.
