Welcome. I’m a gynecologist who specializes in abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, and minimally invasive surgery. I’m part of the resident teaching program at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, where we train residents and specialists to effectively treat gynecological problems with minimally invasive approaches.
I am board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and by the Royal College of Surgeons, and have had additional formal training in treating gynecologic cancer and performing pelvic reconstructive surgery. In addition to practicing as a physician and surgeon, I’m active in scientific medical research—dedicated to improving education and clinical care in my field of medicine. I’m a professor on the faculties of UCLA and USC, and teach locally, throughout the United States, and elsewhere in the world.
When your primary care physician or gynecologist refers you to me for evaluation and care, my team and I will try to quickly learn your personal story, which is the key to medical care, especially for complex problems. We try to empower you to make your own choices regarding your care. When intrauterine procedures or surgery are necessary, most of the procedures are minimally invasive and are performed in our office under local anesthesia using video guidance. These include endometrial biopsies, removal of polyps, fibroids, uterine septums, adhesions or scarring, or placement of devices for surgical sterilization. Our goal is for you to get in, get home, and get on with your life. It’s important to know that I integrate my trainees into our care program—they’re all physicians, and it’s my obligation to ensure that current and future generations of doctors learn and contribute to the programs that are important for member care.
Every weekday, the first stop of my day is at a gym, where I work out to stay fit. Even when I’m on the road, which is often, I try to make time for exercise. Our family also skis in the winter and, during the rest of the year, I try to play as much golf with my sons as possible.
