About Me

Greetings! Welcome to my Web page. I want to thank you for stopping by. Here, you will find more information about my background and the pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition services offered through my office.

Biography

I was born at a Kaiser Permanente hospital in Northern California. I came to Southern California for a medical training stop, and now I have spent my entire professional career in the Los Angeles area. I have been on staff at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. My early career was spent focused on liver transplantation and academic research. However, my passion for patient care and teaching has led me on a path to Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.

About my practice

I believe in treating the disease (the damage happening to the body) and the illness (the impact of disease upon my patient and my patient's family). The patient, the family, and I form a team where my role is to treat the disease while helping the patient and family cope with the illness and live their lives to the fullest. I offer care for the entire range of intestinal, pancreatic, liver and nutritional diseases in children. I also provide services for liver and small bowel transplant candidates and recipients. I provide a full range of pediatric gastroenterology procedures, including catheter-free pH monitoring, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopies, "pill camera" endoscopy, hydrogen breath testing, liver biopsy, and gastrointestinal motility services.

How I thrive

I believe that to thrive means to remain connected to each other. To listen, to interact, to help and create is essential, whether I am speaking to a patient and parent, spending time with my family and friends, or setting aside periods for reflection.
