About Me

I am honored to be part of the Kaiser Permanente Panorama City family after many years in training!

Biography

I was born and raised in Colombia, South America. For several years after finishing medical school, I cared for underserved populations in my native Colombia. This experience forever shaped my life as a physician. I came to Los Angeles to complete my internal medicine training, followed by a nephrology fellowship at UCLA - Olive View Medical Center. I met my wife here, and we have made our home in Southern California. I chose to practice nephrology at Panorama City because of its location, unique patient population, excellent delivery of patient care, and collegial atmosphere.

About my practice

I am committed to educating my patients about preventive nephrology, and providing care founded in the most current evidence-based nephrology practices. My professional interests include home dialysis therapies and teaching. I enjoy helping to train the next generation of nephrologists during bedside clinical rounds. I teach a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach to patient care. I am proud to be part of a multidisciplinary team in our division that includes a pharmacist, nurses, dieticians, and social workers. Thank you very much for the privilege of caring for your health!

How I thrive

To maintain my own wellness, I thrive by spending time with my beloved family. I have two boys, four dogs, two horses, fish tanks, and share my passion for animals and nature with my wife.
