About Me

I was born and raised in Hawaii. Growing up, my father was an educator and my mother was fascinated with the wonders of science. I decided to go into medicine because it is the best of both worlds. I am able to study the science of medicine while reaching out and teaching my patients what they need to know in order to maintain their health.

About my practice

My older brother, Dr. Keith Ogasawara, was the first in the family to become a doctor, specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn), and I soon followed in his footsteps. To me, being an Ob/Gyn physician means caring for women throughout the many different phases of their lives. I enjoy watching them develop through their pregnancies and seeing them afterwards while watching their families grow. My philosophy of care is to treat my patients the way I want my family to be treated. I also have a passion for surgery because I embrace the challenge of working with your hands. As the clinic chief of the Koolau Clinic, I appreciate the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group’s flexibility in allowing me time for education as well as training in my leadership position. I am also appreciative of the many resources we are given to improve patient care as much as possible. It is an honor to be a part of an organization so committed to its physicians and employees.

How I thrive

I stay fit by swimming and hiking. I have always loved the outdoors and enjoy camping under the beautiful Hawaiian sky. My hobbies include scrapbooking, baking, cake decorating and craft making. Spending time with my family keeps me grounded while my church family keeps me focused. I am also actively involved in volunteering with my children’s schools as well as their scouting activities.
